I’m not a doll – #anorexiafighter
Dave: It’s fab to be a part of this project. I can’t wait to see it all, it’s a long time coming. I’ve kinda grown up with Photoshopping images and it’s important to remember real representation rather than the airbrushed, preened photos that only real serve to make people feel rubbish. Can’t wait to see what I’ll look like as a doll (although I don’t think anyone’s going to be buying any of these like they would a Ken Doll!).
“If I learnt one thing, it’s that you can’t sum up life in just one
sentence. No one’s perfect, and no one should want to be. It’s
our little imperfections that make us who we are – different,
unique and brilliant. Everyone’s running from something. It
doesn’t have to be an eating disorder; it doesn’t even have to
be a mental illness – everyone has a shadow they’re trying to
lose. But it’s not about running away from the darkness; it’s
about aiming towards the light. We’re all on a journey and
sometimes there’s the odd diversion. It’s important that
doesn’t knock you off track. Because, at the end of the day,
it’s not about where you’ve come from; it’s about where you’re
heading.”
